The silicon metal prices go up sharply in China

For the electricity price increaed and output decreased, Chinese silicon metal prices increased sharply continuously. The prices for 5-5-3 is USD1,861-1,894/t at ports now, up by around USD32-64/t against those before the New Year holiday, and some offers are even higher.

A source from a silicon metal smelter in Guizhou told that they sold some 5-5-3 at USD1,861-1,878/t at ports last week. They have few stocks now and offer 5-5-3 at USD1,894/t) at ports.

Another trader claimed that the prices for 4-4-1 and 3-3-0-3 were USD1,861/t and USD1,910/t in Kunming respectively in late December, and now some smelters even hold  offers at much higher level.
