Hernic was established in 1995. Hernic employs more than 700 permanent employees and 2,300 contract workers. Hernic operates 2 chrome ore mines of 1.5Mt per annum and 4 ferrochrome furnaces with a capacity of 420kt per annum. All ferrochrome are exported mainly to Asian and European markets in association with Mitsubishi Corporation and ELG Haniel GmbH.
The strategy of the company is to strengthen its competitive position in the ferrochrome industry to ensure long-term sustainability.
