According to the report, ArcelorMittal is reducing wire rod production at several steel mills across Europe, with output decreasing in Germany and France. Similar production cuts are also being implemented in other countries, including Spain.
The affected steel mills include the Hamburg direct reduction plant, the Duisburg long products plant, and the Gandrange steel mill in France. The company is implementing a reduction in shifts at these facilities.
Last year, the quantity of wire imported by the EU from non-EU regions reached an unprecedented level, and this trend is expected to continue until 2025. It is anticipated that tariffs imposed by the United States will lead to a shift of goods towards the EU.
