According to recent data, France's steel production increased by 9.9% from January to September 2024, reaching 8.06 million tons. The average monthly output during this period was about 895,000 tons, up from around 815,000 tons in the same timeframe of 2023.
In the broader context, steel production across the European Union rose by 1.5% in the first nine months of 2024, totaling 97.8 million tons compared to the previous year. However, global steel production during the same period fell by 1.9%, amounting to 1.39 billion tons. In September 2024, France experienced a decline in steel production, decreasing by 8.7% from the previous month to 1.03 million tons.
