EU imports Russian metallurgical raw materials with 2.87 MN tons in H1

From January to June 2024, the European Union imported 2.87 million tons of Russian metallurgical raw materials worth EUR 1.4 billion. Semi-finished steel products dominated these imports, with 1.71 million tons of slabs and billets valued at EUR 886.98 million. Major importers included Belgium, Italy, Denmark, and the Czech Republic.
Pig iron imports totaled about 515,000 tons, with Italy and Latvia as the primary destinations. Ferroalloy imports surged by 74.3% to nearly 43,000 tons, with the Netherlands importing over 76% of this total.
