US’ scrap exports decrease in Jun m-o-m

According to statistics from the US International Trade Commission, the US exported around 1.33 million tons of scrap in June this year, falling by 13% compared to the previous month while rising by 0.7% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the exports to Turkey accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 358,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 7.3% and a year-on-year drop of 26%. Other major destinations of US scrap exports included Bangladesh (around 243,000 tons), India (around 150,000 tons), and Mexico (around 145,000 tons).

During the period, these exports were worth approximately US$577 million, down by 10.1% month on month and by 2.1% year on year.
