India’s GPIL secures clearances for pellet and iron ore beneficiation expansion projects

India’s Godavari Power and Ispat Limited (GPIL) has received clearances from the Indian ministry of environment, forests and climate change (MoEFCC) for the expansion of its pellet and iron ore beneficiation projects, according to a regulatory filing of the company on Monday, July 29. The company said that it has secured the clearance to increase its pellet making capacity to 4.7 million mt per year, from 2.7 million mt per year, at its steel mill site in Raipur in the state of Chhattisgarh. It has also received clearance to ramp up the capacity of its iron ore beneficiation plant located at the same site to 5.657 million mt per year, from 3.284 million mt per year.
