Vallourec, a leader in premium tubular solutions, announced that it has received the necessary approvals from the state environmental authority (COPAM) and federal mining regulator (ANM) to advance the first phase expansion of its Pau Branco iron ore mine.

Pau Branco mine, located in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, supplies Vallourec's vertically integrated tube production process with raw materials and diversifies the Group's earnings sources through external iron ore sales.

Phase 1 will extend the mining life of the Pau Branco mine, improve the quality of its reserves, and increase its profitability. Phase 2 of the mine expansion is expected to be completed in 2027. At present, Vallourec is engaging with state and national authorities to obtain the production and environmental licenses required for Phase 2.
