Turkey's crude steel output hikes in Apr y-o-y

According to the statement from the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), in April, Turkey's crude steel output increased by 4.4% year on year to 2.8 million tons. Meanwhile, Turkey's finished steel products consumption went down by 14% year on year to 3.05 million tons.
In addition, compared to the same month a year ago, Turkey's steel products exports hiked by 64.6% to 1.03 million tons. On the contrary, the imports decreased by 12.4% to around 1.5 million tons.
In the first four months, Turkey's crude steel production totaled about 12.3 million tons, a year-on-year growth of 22.1%. At the same time, Turkey exported steel products of 4.2 million tons, growing by 49.4% year on year. On the contrary, the imports went down by 5.9% year on year to 5.5 million tons.
