Belgian steel output decreases in Jan-Oct y-o-y

In 2022, Belgium's total steel production was nearly 7 million tons, a decrease of 0.4% compared to the previous year.
However, Belgium's steel production will still decline in 2023. According to data from the World Steel Association, Belgian steel output was about 5.223 million tons from January to October 2023, compared to the same period in 2022, which was down by 11.4%.
There were two main reasons for the decline in Belgian steel production in 2023. One was the steel market faced challenges. The other was the temporary shutdown of blast furnace A at ArcelorMittal's Ghent plant in September.
