Turkey’s rebar exports slide in Jan-Sep y-o-y

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey exported around 2.5 million tons of rebar in the first nine months of this year, dropping by 45% compared to the corresponding period a year ago. The export value was down by 53% year on year to around US$1.6 million.

Among them, the top three export destinations were Israel (589,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 25%), Yemen (552,000 tons, a year-on-year hike of 2.6%), and Ethiopia (214,000 tons, a year-on-year surge of 252%).

In September alone, Turkey's rebar exports totaled approximately 404,500 tons, a month-on-month increase of 9.3% and a year-on-year drop of 19%. These exports were worth around US$231 million, up by 6% month on month and down by 32% year on year.
