Severstal, a Russian company mainly operating in the steel and mining industry, declared that its crude steel production in the third quarter amounted to about 2.69 million tons, decreasing by 8.6% quarter on quarter. In addition, its steel sales were 2.69 million tons, slightly decreasing by 0.1% from the previous quarter. The sales of semi-finished products fell by 18.1% compared to the second quarter to 230,000 tons.
In the first nine months, its crude steel and pig iron output was 8.34 million tons and 8.35 million tons, an increase of 4.7% and 2.7% year on year, respectively. In the same period, the sales of steel and semi-finished products increased by 0.4% year on year to 8.16 million tons and dropped by 36.7% year on year to 810,000 tons, respectively.
