BHP Group acquires Australian OZ Minerals

BHP Group confirmed that it had acquired Australian copper producer OZ Minerals for A$9.6 billion. The acquisition was handled by BHP’s subsidiary, BHP Lonsdale Investments, and it used A$28.25 per share to purchase 100% of OZ Minerals’ shares.
BHP indicated that the acquisition strengthened the company’s sectors in copper and nickel, and this would also meet the increasing global demand for the critical minerals used for electric vehicles, wind turbines, and solar panels to support the energy transition.
