Japan’s Tokyo Steel maintains all prices for May

Japan’s Tokyo Steel announced that all steel contract prices for May will be maintained at the level as the previous month. It was the first time in three months that Tokyo Steel has kept steel prices unchanged.

According to the price announcement, the price of rebar was maintained at 103,000 yen per ton, that of H-beams was kept flat at 127,000 yen per ton, that of hot-rolled steel plates was unchanged at 122,000 yen per ton, that of hot-rolled steel coils was maintained at 115,000 yen per ton, and the price of thick steel plates was also maintained at 128,000 yen per ton.

Yuji Komatsuzaki, the managing director of Tokyo Steel, said that the company decided to maintain all steel prices as it should observe the situation of supply and demand in domestic and foreign markets.
