India’s Tata Steel to expand its tinplate company

India’s steelmaker Tata Steel stated that it had started an expansion project at the steel plant of its subsidiary, Tinplate Company of India Limited (TCIL), located in Jharkhand. The total investment amount of the expansion project was about Rs 2,000 crore. TCIL’s current capacity is 415,000 tons and is expected to increase by another 300,000 tons after the investment. The total capacity was expected to reach 715000 tons by 2026. the completed facility would also have state-of-the-art technology and a higher level of automation to meet EU environmental requirements and norms.
