US’ rebar imports grow in Feb m-o-m

According to the preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US' rebar imports amounted to around 97,000 tons in February this year, increasing by 5% compared to the previous month but falling by 31% from the same month a year ago.
Among them, the imports from Algeria occupied the largest share, totaling roughly 51,000 tons, a month-on-month increase of 48.9% and a year-on-year drop of 27.6%. Other primary import sources included Mexico (18,600 tons) and Canada (13,000 tons).
During the period, the value generated by these imports was around US$68 million, down by 4.9% month on month and by 39.3% year on year.
