Brazil’s scrap exports surge, imports decrease in Feb m-o-m, y-o-y

According to statistics, Brazil exported around 59,000 tons of scrap in February this year, hiking by 57% compared to the previous month and surging by 84% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the exports were mainly to Bangladesh, India, and the UAE, and the delivery was mostly shipped through the ports of Santos, São Francisco do Sul, and Suape.

During the same month, Brazil’s scrap imports totaled around 810 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 79% and a year-on-year drop of 67%. The imports were mainly from Paraguay, Japan, and Romania, through the ports of Foz do Iguaçu, Rio de Janeiro, and Santos.
