US’ CRC imports fall in Jan m-o-m, y-o-y

According to the preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 105,100 tons of cold-rolled flat-rolled products in January this year, falling by nearly 11% compared to the previous month and by 36% from the same month a year earlier.
Among them, the imports from Canada accounted for the largest proportion, totaling around 35,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 15.9% and a year-on-year drop of 6.4%. Other major import sources included Mexico (around 26,000 tons), Australia (around 11,200 tons), and Sweden (around 10,300 tons).
During the period, the import value totaled around US$110 million, down by 13.9% month on month and by 53.5% year on year.
