Recently, Eramet released the 2022 report,
in which Eramet Comilog produced 7.5 million tons of manganese ore in 2022, a
year-on-year increase of 7%. The output of manganese alloy was 677,000 tons, a
year-on-year decrease of 9.37%.
In the first half of 2022, the price had
advantages, while the price of manganese ore and manganese alloy had dropped
sharply in the second half of 2022.
Freight costs remained stable in 2022, and
the unit freight cost of manganese ore decreased due to the use of large ships
in Gabon. The freight cost in the first quarter of 2023 is relatively low, and
it is expected to rise in the whole year, but lower than that in 2022.
The transport volume of manganese ore in
2022 was 7.2 million tons, up 10% from 6.5 million tons in 2021. It is
estimated that the transport volume of manganese ore will exceed 7.5 million
tons in 2023.
In 2022, the global manganese output
reached 21.1 million tons (manganese content), with a slight increase of 2%
year on year. The output of Gabon and South Africa increased, while that of
other regions decreased, especially Brazil and Australia.
The sales price of manganese alloy in 2023
is expected to be lower than the level in 2022, and the average price of
manganese ore is $5.2/dmtu.
