US’ crude steel output in week ending Feb 18 decreases w-o-w, y-o-y

According to data from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending on February 18, the US’ production of crude steel was around 1.65 million net tons, decreasing by 0.6% week on week and falling by 5.8% year on year.

During the period, the capacity utilization rate was 74%, a week-on-week decrease of 0.4% and a year-on-year drop of 6.8%.

As of February 18, the adjusted year-to-date output of the US’ crude steel was around 11.43 million net tons, dropping by 6.3% year on year. The capacity utilization rate was 73%, decreasing by 7.3% year on year.
