According to the Indonesian News Network on the 15th, the Ministry of Industry said that the government plans to ban the export of ilmenite ore from June this year, and hopes to invest IDR 1.3 trillion (about US $85.8 million) to develop the downstream processing industry of ilmenite resources to increase the added value of raw material resources.
The government hopes that the development of downstream industries can meet the market demand of 33,000 tons of titanium slag industry and titanium dioxide white pigment industry each year, thus changing the current situation of only exporting ilmenite raw materials and importing titanium products worth up to 272 million dollars.
