The 39 steel makers in China have exported a total of 875,000 mt of HRC in February, up 67.95% or 354,000 mt from the actual exports in January, according to SMM survey.
Many domestic steel mills said that the China’s export quotations of steel have once again enjoyed prices advantages against the rising overseas steel prices, when the export profits were already significantly higher than that of domestic sales. As a result, steel mills were passionate about taking overseas orders, and some of them had received so many orders that would sustain their production to March.
According to SMM survey, the export shipments will be concentrated in March-April, and thus SMM estimates that the export volume of steel in the coming two months will see a rapid growth.
