According to data from the London Metal Exchange (LME), Russian metal accounted for up to 42% of total stocks, totaling about 153,000 tons.
Among them, Russian aluminum totaled around 94,000 tons, accounting for 41% of the LME's stocks. Copper accounted for 94% at about 55,000 tons, and nickel was 16% at around 43,000 tons.
Last year, the LME decided not to ban Russian metal from being traded and stored in its system because many market participants still intended to purchase Russian metals.
