Germany’s crude steel production slides in Dec y-o-y

According to statistics from the German Steel Federation (WV Stahl), Germany’s crude steel output amounted to around 2.7 million tons in December last year, decreasing by 14.6% compared to the same month a year ago.
During the period, Germany’s hot-rolled steel production was down by 15.7% year on year to approximately 2 million tons.
In 2022, Germany’s crude steel output totaled around 36.9 million tons, down by 8.4% year on year; the hot-rolled steel output was roughly 32.1 million tons, dropping by 7.8% year on year.
