Formosa Ha Tinh Steel increases new domestic prices for Feb/Mar

Vietnam’s Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation (FHS) announced its new domestic prices for February on January 6. Among them, the price of hot-rolled steel was increased by US$40/ton, and that of wire rods was hiked by US$23/ton. The delivery date will basically be between February and March.

FHS said that the export demand is not strong. Therefore, the company didn't increase the price of wire rods a lot. Affected by the price up from China and FHS, other Asian steel mills might follow to increase prices.

The coal and iron ore prices all remained at a high level. FHS is careful to control the order quantity to avoid material loss.
