WTO: Indonesia's export ban on nickel against international trade regulation

The World Trade Organization (WTO) made a final judgment last week that the Indonesian government's export ban policy on nickel is against WTO regulation, but Indonesia's authority will appeal to this case.
In September this year, Indonesian President Joko Widodo mentioned that even after losing the WTO ruling, they will not change the export ban policy on nickel. However, if the WTO takes more measurements, more impact will be on nickel supply in the future.
The news will not have any other negative impact on nickel in a short term but it might have a price change in the long term.
The WTO will send its final decision to other members on November 30 and put this case on its Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) agenda on December 20 for discussion.
