According to statistics from the Ministry of Finance Japan, Japan’s steel exports in September were 2.4 million tons, a month-on-month decrease of 3.3% and falling by 18.4% from the same month a year ago.

At the same time, Japanese steel sales to Europe and Middle-East increased, but the sales to other countries went down because of low steel demands and more competition. The sales to the EU hiked by 219% year on year and soared by 238% month on month.

In the second and third quarters of this year, Japanese steel sales totaled around 1.6 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.6%.
