US’ crude steel production in week ending Sep 10 rises w-o-w

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending September 10, the production of US’ crude steel totaled 1.723 million short tons, increasing by 0.5% from the same period a week ago but falling by 6.3% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 78.2%, up by 0.4% week on week and down by 5.1% year on year.
As of the week ending September 10, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ crude steel has amounted to 63.041 million short tons, a year-on-year drop of 3.8%. The capacity utilization rate was 79.8%, a year-on-year reduction of 1.2%.
