US’ CRC imports slide in Jul m-o-m, y-o-y

According to the preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 118,000 tons of cold-rolled flat-rolled products in July this year, sliding by 12.5% compared to the previous month and also dropping by 4.3% from the same month a year earlier.
Among them, the imports from Canada accounted for the largest proportion, totaling around 41,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 14.4% and a year-on-year growth of 13.4%. Other major import sources included Mexico (around 28,100 tons) and Australia (around 16,600 tons).
During the period, the import value totaled around US$178 million, down by 17.2% month on month and up by 13% year on year.
