In July, Brazil's scrap exports were merely about 6,000 tons, hitting the record low this year and slashing by 87.54% year on year. Although Brazil's scrap suppliers focused on foreign sales, the low international trading price and Brazilian real decreasing against the US dollar made exports still low.
During the period, Bangladesh was the main country that imported most of Brazil's scrap, with 2,220 tons. The followings were India (about 1,000 tons) and Congo (about 530 tons).
Brazil's scrap imports in July amounted to roughly 6,400 tons, dropping by 43.61% from the same month of last year. The imports were mainly from Paraguay, Bolivia, and the US, totaling about 4,200 tons, 1,000 tons, and 860 tons, respectively.
