India's Tata group stated that it might be forced to close its steel factory at Port Talbot, the UK, without the UK's 1.5 billion pounds subsidy.

The UK's Tata steel said they are trying to stop using blast furnaces and instead put electric arc furnaces into operation to build greener steel plants and further achieve decarbonization plans.

Tata steel has discussed with the UK's government for two years. If they can't reach a consensus within 12 months, Tata might close the plants in Port Talbot.
