Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa, the auction of iron ore mining leases will start in the next two to three months. The State Bank of India was assigned to supervise the entire process of auctioning mining leases in Goa.
Mining in Goa, India, was suspended in early 2018 because it didn’t follow legal rules. Therefore, the supreme court canceled 88 leases and prohibited extracting fresh ore.
The government launched a team to recover money lost to illegal mining.
