US’ crude steel production in week ending Jun 18 falls w-o-w

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending June 18, the production of US’ crude steel totaled 1.758 million short tons, decreasing by 1.5% from the same period a week ago and also falling by 4.7% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 80.5%, down by 1.2% week on week and by 2.5% year on year.
As of the week ending June 18, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ crude steel has amounted to 42.416 million short tons, a year-on-year drop of 1.8%. The capacity utilization rate was 80.7%, a year-on-year growth of 1.3%.
