Russia's Nornickel reported nickel production of around 51,500 tons in the first quarter of 2022, up by 10% year on year. The solution of groundwater inflow problems at Oktyabrsky and Taimyrsky mines in Russia in 2021 explained the increase in nickel production.

The company said it would maintain its annual production forecast for this year by introducing new logistics systems and finding alternative suppliers, despite sanctions against Russia in Europe and North America.
