Spain’s crude steel production slides in Feb m-o-m, y-o-y

According to statistics from Spanish Steel Association (UNESID), Spain’s crude steel output totaled nearly 970,000 tons in February this year, dropping by 1.8% compared to the previous month and also falling by 11% from the same month a year ago.
In the first two months, Spain produced a total of 1.95 million tons of crude steel, a year-on-year decline of 8.5%.
In February, around 770,000 tons of scrap were used in steelmaking in Spain, a month-on-month increase of 9.8% and a year-on-year growth of 9%. The two-month scrap consumption totaled 1.47 million tons, accounting for 75.4% of total crude steel output in the period.
