Turkey’s wire rod exports increase in Feb m-o-m, y-o-y

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey exported around 93,800 tons of wire rods in February this year, rising by 57.4% compared to the previous month and also growing by 36% from the same month a year earlier.
During the period, the export value totaled nearly US$75 million, a month-on-month increase of 49.7% and a year-on-year hike of 81%.
In the first two months of this year, Turkey’s wire rod exports amounted to roughly 153,400 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 10.2%.
Among them, the top three export destinations were Israel (around 41,600 tons, down by 37.9% year on year), Romania (around 18,800 tons, soaring by 152.7% year on year), and Peru (around 11,800 tons).
The export value during the January-February period totaled roughly US$125 million, a year-on-year decline of 32.6%.
