Turkey’s scrap imports drop in Feb m-o-m, y-o-y

According to the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), Turkey imported around 1.9 million tons of scrap in February this year, falling by 24% compared to the previous month and also dropping by 7.6% from the same month a year ago.
In the first two months of this year, Turkey’s scrap imports amounted to around 4.5 million tons, a year-on-year increase of nearly 9%. Among them, the top three import sources were the EU (around 2.02 million tons, a year-on-year drop of 13.3%), the US (around 606,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of nearly 29%), and the CIS countries (around 573,000 tons, a year-on-year hike of 30%).
During the period, the import value was more than US$1.9 million, a year-on-year increase of nearly 26%.
