Malaysia-based Eastern Steel Sdn. Bhd. (ESSB)'s groundbreaking ceremony of the 1380-cubic-meter blast furnace project was held on March 20 at Kemaman, Terengganu, Malaysia.
The blast furnace project was an important sub-item of ESSB’s 2.7 million-ton project. It was designed and supplied by MCC Jingcheng. The expected annual output of molten iron was 1.7 million tons.
The blast furnace adopted advanced design concepts and applied advanced blast furnace longevity technology which laid the foundation for the realization of blast furnace automation and intelligent production.
MCC Jingcheng has undertaken the overall plant design and main equipment supply for the 2.7 million-ton project. With the excavation of the blast furnace foundation, the civil construction of each project would also be fully launched, indicating that the project has officially entered the construction stage.
