Turkey crude steel output drops in Jan due to lack of electric power supply

According to the market information from Turkey, the total domestic output of crude steel in Turkey this January was around 3.2 million tons, decreased by 7.8% year on year, mainly suffered by the lack of electric power supply.
Although the output showed decline in the first month of 2022, most of the market participants still mentioned that many of the steelmakers had invested in output expanding in 2021, which might drive the production to further increase in the coming years.
