China sees continued strong demand
Chinese market participants were surprised
that lithium prices in China continued to rise rapidly after the recent Chinese
New Year holidays, even though lithium producers in the country have resumed
production this week, market sources told.
The price for lithium carbonate, 99.5%
Li2CO3 min, battery grade, spot price range exw domestic China was
440,000-470,000 yuan ($69,408-74,140) per tonne on Thursday, up by 40,000 yuan
per tonne from 400,000-430,000 yuan per tonne a week earlier.
The price of the lithium hydroxide
monohydrate, LiOH.H2O 56.5% LiOH min, battery grade, spot price range, exw
domestic China was 390,000-410,000 yuan per tonne on Thursday.
