PLN signs power supply agreement with Antam for ferronickel smelter in North Maluku

Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), an Indonesian state-owned power company, signed a Head of Agreement (HOA) with Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) for the power supply to the East Halmahera Ferronickel Smelter in North Maluku.
PLN's President Director, Darmawan Prasojo, said that PLN is ready to supply Antam with 75 Megawatts (MW) of electricity over the next 30 years, and it has even prepared a larger capacity of 111 MW to meet Antam's growing demand in the future.
With the support of PLN’s power, the completed smelter will be fully put into operation by 2022.
