Vietnam's steel product imports & exports decrease in Jan y-o-y

According to Vietnam Customs, Vietnam exported approximately 815,000 tons of steel products in January 2022, decreasing by 10.3% from the previous month and 10.2% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, Cambodia was the major destination with around 116,000 tons, down by 9.6% year on year; followed by the Philippines (about 33,000 tons), Thailand (21,000 tons), China (19,800 tons), and Taiwan (19,700 tons).

Besides, Vietnam imported roughly 1.02 million tons of steel products during this period, increasing by 12% from December 2021 while sliding by 16.3% year on year.

China was the biggest supplier with about 331,000 tons, down by 35.1% from January 2021. Other suppliers included Japan (about 156,000 tons), South Korea (136,000 tons), Taiwan (128,000 tons), and Russia (118,000 tons).
