Colombia’s crude steel & longs output grows in 2021

According to statistics from Comité Colombiano de Productores de Acero (CCPA), the local steel producers' association, Colombia’s crude steel output totaled around 99,000 tons in December 2021, down 11.5% compared to the previous month and also dropping by nearly 14% from the same month a year ago.
During the period, Colombia’s output of long steel products totaled around 99,300 tons, dropping by 15.5% compared to the previous month and falling by 19% year on year.
In 2021, Colombia’s crude steel output had a year-on-year increase of 16.4% to 1.3 million tons, and the output of long steel products was up by 32.5% year on year to 1.5 million tons.
