US’ crude steel production in week ending on Jan 22 decreases w-o-w

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending on January 22, the production of US’ crude steel totaled 1.803 million short tons, decreasing by 1.6% from the same period a week ago while hiking by 3.9% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 81.9%, down by 1.3% week on week but going up by 5.3% year on year.

As of the week ending January 22, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ crude steel has amounted to 5.704 million short tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.5%. The capacity utilization rate was 82.4%, a year-on-year growth of 5.8%.
