Turkey’s HRC imports rise in Jan-Oct y-o-y

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey's hot-rolled coil (HRC) imports totaled around 4 million tons in the first ten months of this year, rising by 40% compared to the same month a year ago. The import value was roughly US$3.4 billion, a year-on-year increase of 159%.
Among them, the top import sources were Russia (around 1.68 million tons, a year-on-year hike of nearly 77%), Ukraine (around 886,100 tons, a year-on-year increase of 79.3%), and India (around 589,200 tons).
In October alone, Turkey's HRC imports amounted to roughly 438,800 tons, up by 3.8% month on month and by 44% year on year. The import value had a month-on-month hike of 0.5% and a year-on-year surge of nearly 198% to around US$429 million.
