Japan’s JFE Steel announced it has resumed the production of the No. 4 blast furnace in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, on December 13, 2021. It was closed in the latter of last April due to the steeply declining demand caused by Covid-19. Till now, all mills with blast furnaces in Japan have resumed their operation, except for the idled blast furnaces. Considering the good demand for steel, JFE improved its technology, which made its production recover in a short time. The firm also improved its equipment and make the volume of blast furnaces increase by 2%.
