US’ HRC imports rise in Oct m-o-m

According to the preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 451,800 tons of hot-rolled flat products in October this year, rising by 13.2% compared to the previous month and soaring by nearly 287% from the same month a year earlier.
Among them, the imports from Canada accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 204,300 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 20.9% and a year-on-year surge of 214.1%. Other import sources included Mexico (around 61,900 tons), Turkey (around 60,000 tons), South Korea (around 50,000 tons), and Japan (around 19,200 tons).
During the period, the import value totaled roughly US$428 million, up by 24.2% month on month and soaring by 575.2% year on year.
