The Executive Committee of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has approved extending the 0% tariff validity period for imports of some vanadium and aluminum alloys used to produce titanium alloys to December 31, 2022.
Vahagn Ghazaryan, Director of the Department for Customs Tariff and Non-Tariff Regulation of the EEC, said that the cost of vanadium-aluminum alloys accounts for around 30% of the price of titanium alloys. The implementation of preferential tariff policies significantly affects the reduction of costs of titanium production and maintaining competitiveness in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
The main consumers of vanadium and aluminum alloys are metallurgical companies that produce products for the aerospace industry.
