The adjustment of China's steel export tariffs has suppressed the signing of export orders and has affected the actual export volume. Moreover, Southeast Asia’s epidemic has also slumped overseas demand, which affected China's steel exportation.

According to the latest data released by the General Administration of Customs of China, China’s steel exports in October this year fell by 8.6% month on month to around 4.5 million tons. The monthly import volume hit a new 11-month low and was still 11% higher than the same period last year.

The cumulative export volume from January to October increased by nearly 30% year on year to approximately 57.52 million tons.
