Turkey's HRC imports from India surge in Sep

According to statistics from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey imported around 120,000 tons of hot-rolled coils (HRC) from India in September, compared to zero in the same month a year ago. The imports totaled 517,700 tons in the first nine months of this year.
India didn't use to be the traditional supplier of HRC for Turkey. However, due to its competitive prices, Turkey raised the import volume of HRC from India this year.
During the reporting period, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) is still the major supply of HRC for Turkey. Turkey imported around 121,000 tons, 96,000 tons, and 25,000 tons of HRC from Russia, Ukraine, and Japan, respectively.
